Effective 8 October 2026 · Version 1.1 · Surre's Creative Reality, LLC
AetherMeld is made by Surre's Creative Reality, LLC, a Tennessee limited liability company (“we”, “us”). We are responsible for the personal information described here. Contact: hello@surrescreativereality.com.
This policy covers the AetherMeld iOS app, including TestFlight builds, and the servers it talks to. Our company website has its own, simpler privacy page.
You do not need an account. Capturing, browsing your Compendium, and making cards all work signed out. Signed out, your Compendium stays on your device and nothing in it is sent to our servers. The app asks for your camera and photo library only so that you can capture or choose photos, and it never asks for your location or contacts.
Signing in is how you turn on hosted sync and photo analysis. Signing in turns sync on; there is no setting to be signed in with sync off. If you do not want your Compendium on our servers, stay signed out.
| Information | Where it comes from | Why we have it |
|---|---|---|
| Sign-in email address — the address Apple shares when you use Sign in with Apple. If you choose “Hide My Email”, it is Apple's private relay address, not your real one. AetherMeld does not ask Apple for your name. | Sign in with Apple | Our sign-in provider, Supabase, keeps it with your sign-in record. AetherMeld's own database stores no email address and no name. |
| Account identifiers — an AetherMeld account ID, and the sign-in provider's ID for you that links your Apple sign-in to that account. | Created when you first sign in | To recognize your account and keep it separate from everyone else's. |
| Your Compendium — your entries and records (the cards and details you create or the app generates, including any analysis results) and the photos attached to them. | You, and the app as you use it | To keep a private copy in your account so you can restore it on a new install or another device. Our server stores your entries as you sent them and does not read what is in them. |
| Usage records — what kind of operation ran (for example a sync or a photo analysis), when, how many items and bytes, whether it worked, and for a photo analysis the AI provider and model. Never the photo, its result, your entries, or file contents. | Created by our server | To enforce fair-use limits on each account, to find faults, and to understand what the service costs us to run. |
Like most servers, ours see your device's network address when the app connects. Our server uses it in memory to limit abuse, and it can appear in request logs kept by our server, our hosting provider, and our sign-in provider (Supabase), which records it with sign-in events. We do not use it to locate you.
AetherMeld can identify and describe what is in a photo — a creature, an object, a place — to build your card. This uses artificial intelligence run by a third party, Google. It is off until you agree to it on the screen the app shows you, and it works only while you are signed in. Here is what happens to a photo you choose to have analyzed, in order:
Neither the AetherMeld server nor the inspection service stores the photo from an analysis, or the result. Each keeps a usage record of the call without the image: the AetherMeld server records the operation, its size, outcome, provider and model against your account; the inspection service records which app called, the operation, the model, the amount of processing, its estimated cost, and the outcome, without your account.
Analysis is separate from sync. If you save the capture to your Compendium, its photo and the analysis result become part of your Compendium and sync to your account like any other entry.
The analysis is generated by AI and can be wrong. Treat it as the starting point of a card, not as a fact about what you photographed.
Your Compendium and photos are private to your account. Nothing in AetherMeld shares them with other people, and there is no public link to any of your photos. We do not look at your Compendium. A person at our company would look at your data only to answer a request you sent us, to investigate a fault you reported, or if the law required it.
These companies process data on our behalf to run AetherMeld.
| Provider | What they do for us |
|---|---|
| Apple | Sign in with Apple, TestFlight, and the App Store, under Apple's own terms and privacy policy. |
| Supabase | Sign-in accounts (holds the email address), our database, and the private storage that holds your synced photos. Our project is hosted in the United States (US East, Virginia). |
| Render | Hosts the AetherMeld server and the Photo Inspection Service, in the United States (Virginia). |
| Google (Gemini API) | Photo analysis, only when you use it, through our paid Google project, as described above and under Google's own terms. |
AetherMeld's own storage and processing — our server, our database, the private storage for your photos, and our inspection service — take place in the United States (US East, Virginia). Google processes photo-analysis requests under its own terms, linked above.
We do not sell personal information, do not share it for advertising, and do not share it with data brokers. We would disclose information if the law required it or to protect someone's safety.
Open the Account sheet in the app and choose to delete your account. This immediately deletes your AetherMeld account, your synced Compendium entries and their earlier versions, and your sign-in link, and queues your synced photos for deletion from storage; the app tells you if that photo cleanup is still pending. We then ask Supabase to delete your sign-in record, which holds your email address. Your usage records are kept with no link to any account, as described above. There is no undo. If your account had been disabled for misuse, see "How long we keep things" for the 30-day fingerprint we keep. The Compendium on your device is not touched — it stays on your device until you delete it or the app.
If you cannot use the in-app option, or want to be sure your sign-in record is gone, email hello@surrescreativereality.com from the address on your account and we will do it for you.
To disconnect AetherMeld from your Apple ID as well, use Settings → Apple Account → Sign in with Apple on your device. Doing that signs the app out; it does not delete your AetherMeld account.
Wherever you live, you can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing hello@surrescreativereality.com. We aim to respond within 2 business days and to complete requests within 30 days. We will never treat you differently for asking. Our storage and processing are in the United States, so using AetherMeld from elsewhere means your information is processed there. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
AetherMeld is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, email us and we will delete it.
Data travels encrypted. Synced photos live in private storage reached only through our server, with no public link. Our server checks every sign-in token, keeps each account's data separate from every other account's, and keeps the secret keys that grant access to your data on the server, never in the app. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach that affects your information, we will tell you.
When this policy changes we will update the version and date at the top of this page, and we will tell you inside the app before a material change takes effect.
